This is good for a laugh!
Great job Granny Jan and Jihad Kitty!
Excellent example of “geometric frame composition”. The circle is used to center attention without appearing to do so, hence the reason Obama is centered inside the “halo”. I get the point of the video, but I am fairly certain this is pretty standard for presidential photo composition.
I see what you’re saying Colin… so i did a little research. It would appear that the halo effect of the Presidential seal only goes as far back as President Bush 43. It appears only a few times and one of themis rather unflattering in the sense of a contrite looking Bush almost as if giving the appearance of a man realizing failure. There are comparatively more halo effect photos of Obama including a handful of him with the original Obama campaign logo as the halo producer. There were none that I could find of Clinton or of Reagan using that effect. I didn’t look for Bush, Sr. If anything, this is a new effect for photos but one that has been used with mulitple props. If you do a “President ******** speech halo” search on google, you’ll find a variety for each president(obviously, put in a name and not just the ****. LOL)
