This is why Governor Chris Christie is so awesome. This is his retelling of the meeting he had with the President of the teacher’s union regarding the email from the head of the Bergen County Education Association which contained a joking(?) prayer of the death of Governor Christie. Somewhere in here is an apology from the teacher’s union and I’m sure that it was real heartfelt…
Joe Coppola (head of the BCEA) sent an emailed memo to the teacher’s union that said:
“Dear Lord this year you have taken away my favorite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett, my favorite singer, Michael Jackson, and my favorite salesman, Billy Mays. I just wanted to let you know that Chris Christie is my favorite governor.”
Although this is hardly funny and not much in the way of a threat either, Governor Christie’s points are perfect. The way he spotlights this against a number of similar possible scenarios and suggests the realistic outcomes makes it clear that the way that the teacher’s union handles their affairs is pathetic to say the least. In a time where integrity is lacking in just about every arena of business and government, Christie shines brightly as a beacon of hope. He has an amazing way of being himself and using his common sense integrity to illustrate just how bad the others are.
